Contempary image homework

We were asked to find a contempary image that reflected wealth and status with Modern day sitter. I chose this picture of Kim Kardashian on her wedding day, the first thing I saw was her dress, the designer was everything. She kept the dress and all the wedding details secret until after the wedding   The second thing I noticed was her now husband Kanye. The arm candy is a great modern day status symbol and the fact that they are both famous and rich means they are a power couple.
The main focus of Kim is her "booty" which is definitely a big thing at the minute with the Stars. It's all about the "big booty"   The whole celebrity wedding theme is a big thing and something the media pay thousands to get a scoop of.
I then made my own contemporary portrait of how I want to portray myself. I wore a fur coat because I love this coat. It's something my grandma bought it and I'm a big family person so I used this to show it. I'm holding a Buddha to reflect happiness and good fortune in my life. The makeup brushes reflect what I want to do with my life. Peppa pig spaghetti shapes are my favourite thing in life and so I had to include those as something that brings happiness into my life. The debit card reflects how I would like to be successful and wealthy but at the moment the student loan is being spent on peppa pig spaghetti.

Miners Obsessed

Hi lil' Beauties,

I've been away for a bit I'm sorry just my exams are coming up so I've been a little occupied but I'm back with a new amazing discovery!:D
So I've recently found Miners Cosmetics! They're a cosmetics brand with cute pieces at dirt cheap prices! Their websites pink which is an added bonus and I promise you will LOVE what they stock.
I want to buy it all, and I'm not being paid to say this, this is just my honest opinion and I'm so excited I had to let you all know!
They have products for the face, eyes, lips, nails and body as well as selling gift packs having a last chance to buy section and being able to 'ask an expert' so if your not sure what shadow will go with what gloss or how to make your eyes pop for that big date coming up then ask them your question and they'll get back to you in a jiffy.
Its the perfect site for a girl on a budget (like me) and I cant help but to want it all!:D And with nail polish at £2.99 and blush at £3.99 I'm sure I will do in no time at all hehee

http://www.minerscosmetics.co.uk/ - Happy shopping :D

love you all

Royal Duties

Been a while I know, sorry...

 forgiven? hopefully haha

so yesterday was a big day, really unusual and a bit surreal to be honest. but we'll start at the beginning way waaaaaay back in December..
i went to the clothes show live in December, if any of you don't know what that is, its an overpriced market really, its gone down hill recently, but hey ho.
One of the stalls was being used by the company Miss Teen Queen, they asked if I would be happy entering so of course I did on a whim. there were millions of girls entering that weekend so i took nothing to it.
Christmas passed, new year, January, February AND march almost, so its no wonder I forgot about it until last Monday when an envelope dropped through my front door, it was from Miss Teen Queen UK, I'd been chosen from 19,800 girls to go though to the judges! I was sooo excited. I had a little form to fill in and post back which I almost didn't do because I never thought anything would come of it but I sent it off non the less on Wednesday morning.
Friday dinner I checked my phone at school and I had a text; "Looks like your going to London tomorrow, teen queen-Dad x" I was gobsmacked. seriously I never even thought that I would hear back nevermind it being so soon.
I got home and there was such an excitement in my house it was so nice but that soon faded into worry because I had to pack and I was so nervous thinking I would forget something haha
Anyway I woke up 7am yesterday morning got dressed washed my hair put the tiniest amount of makeup on and got in the car! 3 and a half hours and a nap later we turned up in North London, somewhere near Camden and went to this studio.
There were 3 other girls there when I was and all of them were beautiful. We all sat in a waiting room while each one took a turn to have her makeup and hair done and then be shot by the photographer, JP. when it was my turn I awkwardly smiled as I walked into the makeup room because I was so nervous but Ben, the makeup artist, really put me at ease, he was nice, funny and was giving me a lot of advice. He kept saying how this was his favourite makeup he'd done yet and he didn't want to stop playing around haha he was lovely.
When that was done 1 hour later I went onto set, JP made me comfortable in front of the camera and explained everything, it was amazing! I loved every second of it and so did he, he kept saying how he wanted to take so many pictures because the shoot was going awesomely :D, after that I was taken to see my photo's and the rest of the competition was explained to me.
If I get through to the next round I will be put onto the website, it will then be a public vote to get through to the finals, I will need as many votes as possible to secure a place in the finals. but I'm just so shocked I never thought this would happen in a million years! the experience was amazing:D
so would you vote? hehee :')

Rooty Tooty

Ok so..kinda changed my mind..enough with the ombre, I want to be blond again! or do I..hmm I'm so indecisive haha

Anyways my mum wont let me bleach my hair so its either go for a Louis Spence and shave it off, or let it grow out and I have spent 3 long years growing this hair which is way too long to just chop it all off! and I cannot cope with my one inch roots how will I last with half a head full!?!

The lengths I go to, to hide my roots
from the world.
So I've decided my problem is easily solved..redye my roots, an option I don't want to take but have no alternative:( why did nobody explain the consequences to me 12 weeks back!

I know I've only been brunette for 3 months but winters almost over and I want to have golden locks when summer comes, guess I'll just have to rock the brunette beach beauty look, that's if I can pull it off! this means a long walk to boots to buy myself a big bottle of tan! (Palmers cocoa gradual of course;) which I will review nearer spring :D)

aah well seems we cant have it all and apparently my roots aren't that noticeable it's all in my head (excuse the pun) but I swear they are! I've taken to wearing hats..I NEVER wear hats. -.-

The faux pas' of being a girl eh?

Ombre Belle

Unless you've been hiding under a rock since the summer (which i truly doubt a lot) you'll know about the summer hair craze which was 'ombre' or 'dip dye'. Just Google Ashlee Simpson, Drew Barrymore, or Alexa Cheung and see there beautiful locks sun kissed at the tips.
Now I know it's winter again and a new year but I just cant help but want to transform my boring brunette locks into a summer haven and dare to dip!
Apperantly it's really easy to do at home, I've seen a lot of blogs about DIY ombre one of them being Zoe's (shes an amazing blogger and a beautiful girl, so go check her out http://schoee.blogspot.com/ )  and I would be willing to do it but the thought of my poor hairdressers face when ive (in lack of other words) 'cocked' up his masterpiece. I don't think he'd be too happy and so I'm waiting to show him a picture of the 'ombre-do' and hope for the best.

Although my mum does say it just looks like your blondes grown out and you have really bad roots...but its not her hair hahaa.

Of course it wont be forever, but it will definitely give me that spring/summer vibe I'm dieing for at the moment!

Accessorize Blusher Review

Hi everyone! Yes..I've gone brown..you like? hehee

Anyways today i got given my first CHRISTMAS present!  and it was an Accessorize makeup set.
First of all when I opened it the first thing that caught my eye was this gorgeous blusher. It is soooo beautiful and I really hope the pictures do it justice but I would recommend this100%!
I have the blusher in shade 'SCANDAL' an orchidy peachy colour.

The powder is baked so the pigment stands out more and it lasts longer, the packaging is gorgeous, its gold with butterflies on like all the Accessorize makeup packing. Inside the powder is domed and swirled which gives such a beautiful effect.

1)First off swirl your brush in the powder tapping off any excess.

2)Then smile to find the apples of your cheeks, swirling the product round the apples and up the cheek bone till the hair line.

3) Finally apply bronzer under the cheek bones to define and contour, and apply highlighter on top of the cheek bones to brighten your face.

The gold flakes in this blusher shine when they hit the light giving your face warmth and a slight highlight.
The orchid colour blush is just the right shade to warm the complexion in the winter months and is great for partying around Christmas time. I LOVE this blush and will be buying it again when I run out..which im predicting will be really soon hehehe :D

Love you all! and Merry Christmas ;)xx

Cheap but Chic

Outfit of the day
I only bought this top today. I thought it was a really nice colour, it would go with
a lot of things in my wardrobe and I thought the slogan was cute. you'll probably see me
wearing this a lot over autumn and winter, because I think it looks great with a cardigan or jacket.
I'm in love with it, it's a nice neutral pebble colour but it's still edgy enough to get people looking *winks*

My Mum actually bought me this cardigan at the weekend. im soooo into this colour at the moment, it's almost plum.
It's everywhere, all over the high street this Autumn and I just think it's gorgeous! I think it highlights and
pulls together neutral colours, which I tend to wear a lot of and my wardrobe is full of recently haha:)

I bought this skirt today again, it was the skirt I originally set out to look
for.. i thought it would be great with a teal vest and over the knee socks but
as soon as i saw this vest i thought i have to have that too! haha

skirt: h&m-£3.99
cotton vest (high heels, high hopes): h&m-£7.99
cardigan: Matalan-£10
